It was part of the Pink Panther Cartoon (as an interlude between PP stories), so I imagine it should be included in the Pink Panther Cartoons DVD box-set (different to the Pink Panther Movies box-set) which is out now.

Try renting it first to check!

The Ardvark cartoons are NOT on the DVD Pink Panther Cartoon box set, sadly.

I too think they were great.

I'm not aware of a DVD release in the pipeline.

there was also the dragonfly and the crane
And The Inspector
He was simply called the Blue Anteater. And the voice sounded like (or was) American comedian Jackie Mason. The Ant he was always trying to eat was supposed to sound like Dean Martin.
The cartoons were called The Ant and the Aardvark first aired on March 5th 1969 and there were only a total of 17 of them made.  These can be dowloaded from various sources, none of which I'm allowed to mention.
the crane one was called 'crazy legs crane'
