No, It was a kind of jangly, muzak tune played on a xylophone.

The music you're on about is by The Palais All Stars and believe it's called "Left Bank Two", written by W Hill in 1963.

You can find it on a compilation called "This is the return of cult fiction" CD

It's "Left Bank Two" by Wayne Hill
