This is a JOKE, whats going on in the UK?

The police in Muslim States don't give a sh!te about British religions or customs.

Why should we care about them?

Its not so much as the 'English' losing their identity, it 'England' thats not losing, but lost its identity.

This Labour Goverment did away with border controls, while bringing in the 'Human Rights' law, which means that most of the illegals cannot be returned to whence they came, thats coupled with 'Political Correctness', which works well for the non-English, but hardly at all for the English.

Not surprising really, when you look at whose been ruling us for the last twelve years,
Lonnie could not have put it better
you realise we are marked people from now on for daring to say something about our immigrant friends,
be prepared for backlash from our do-gooder society!!!
I wonder if other Western countries are so accommodating when it comes to religious ritual? Anyone know?
Have you noticed we follow everything the US does, even boot-licking where necessary but when it comes to religion or immigrants we take the opposite view? Why???
The police in Muslim States don't give a sh!te about British religions or customs.

So, do you think that is a good thing? I don't. Yet you seem to be saying we should be more intolerant like the Muslim States. I would sooner show them the correct and humane way, it may be one way traffic, but it is the right thing to do.

What is the fuss about, it is just a scarf. The police are supposed to be respectful to the public, and this is a way of being respectful if they have to enter a mosque.

I don't really want us to copy the French or Germans either.
I agree with Gromit. It's only a scarf and shows respect when entering their place of worship.

When I was visiting a temple in Thailand I was advised to cover up.....which I did.

"Loosing our identity's"
Maybe we English are also losing our ability to spell and to write plurals correctly.
trt what British religions or customs do you expect the police in Muslim states to observe?

In this country, Sikh police wear turbans all the time, do you have a problem wi that?
<stifled yawn>
I remember that episode of Tribe with Bruce Parry where he approached a remote Amazonian tribe. They threatened him with spears and he had to strip naked and offer gifts to gain their trust.

If one of them came over here, trt, should we do the same back? Or should we act in a British way, according to British society and British values?

You idiot.
Sweep2k

They only made Bruce do that because they fancied him.

Those clever Amazonians.
TCL is right....we have no customs to adhere to when walking into one of our churches.
TCL is right....we have no customs to adhere to when walking into one of our churches.

In actual fact we have or we did, who knows everything seems to have flown out of the window regarding respect in this country.

I refer to the custom of Females covering their heads when entering a CoE church.

Regarding foreigners abiding to our customs, no I don't think they do.

I draw attention to a post I posted in the past, and that concerned a British soldier who also happened to be a Sikh.

He was chosen to be a pall-bearer on the arrival back to England of a dead soldier.

All the other five pall-bearers had removed their caps out of respect for the dead, but the Sikh did not remove his turban.

Wouldn't that have been the ultimate show of respect if he chosen to override his religious custom out of respect for his dead colleague.
Your analogies are both poor there, AOG. Do you want me to explain why or did you know already?

They don't give a dmn about western customs?

I see, so Westerners cant get a drink in any muslim country can they?

You'd better tell everyone jetting off to Turkey or Tunisia or Morroco for their hols then!

I don't know how my wife got away with not wearing a headscarf in Egypt!

All the other five pall-bearers had removed their caps out of respect for the dead, but the Sikh did not remove his turban.

Do you think that a cap and a turban are equivalent in terms of what they mean?

Seriously?

I know I'm indulging in a bit of reductio ad absurdum here, but if you consider a turban to be as meaningless as a cap, then why don't nuns wear hot pants and halter tops?
Actually, that Sikh should be respected for his religious beliefs.

That soldiers comrades obviously liked and chose him as a pall bearer, and it didn't bother them one bit.

Anyway, its not Sikhs that cry discrimination at any little thing, and its not Sikhs that want to take over the country.
Wow!

And on that note...
Do you think that a cap and a turban are equivalent in terms of what they mean?

Obviously SP you have never worn a uniform.

In normal circumstances when on duty, just try to wear your uniform without a cap.
