some parking meters in glasgow say that the max amount of time is 4 hours yet the max amount of money the take is 2.00, if it costs 10p for 12 mins, this is more than 2.00, so if I parked for 4 hours with 2.00 in the meter would I b given a ticket by one of the meanies who patrol the area?, sorry sounds like one of those annoying old arithmetic probs from primary school but really would like to know

The sums work out ok. Every hour has 5 12-minute period, so the cost per hour is 5 x 10p = 50p. For 4 hours the charge is 4 x 50p = 2.00. You should not get a ticket, according to my calculations.
