For years now I have timer-recorded radio programmes and then listened to them on my car's cassette player. I now have a new car that has a cd player only but is also able to take mp3/ipods. My question is: how can I now timer-record programmes to play in the car?

I think I am right about this, but if you have got a DVD recorder and can receive the Freeview channels there is no reason why you cannot continue time-recording the radio channels onto a CD.

I tried, but the DVD recorder would not accept a recordable CD. I could record onto a DVD but could then play it only on the DVD player, even when I had finalised it. Thanks for your help.
If you have a USB stick you can transfer it from the DVD disc via your computer if you rip it there first.
