Short answer: if you really want to see it then yes it is.  I've not seen it myself, but the reviews have been scathing, and to be honest I'm not interested in it anyway.  But if you are interested, and you want to see it, you should.  At least you'll know how bad it is!
That's true - If a film is a real turkey you'll hear about it soon enough. Other than that it's hard to find an impartial review of a film these days given the hype and favours circuit that goes on. There have been similar questions about Grudge, some saying great, some saying terrible.

yes ive seen it , its not a bad movie but it  lacked the real terror of the first film back in the seventies.I rate it at about 6.5 out of ten not great but not bad

I thought it was pretty bad myself, especially the bit where she running at the priest. What is this "Zombie Baywatch".
dont judge a film by its reviews, because what some one thinks is poo some one else thinks its great, (this is going back a few months) the chronicles of riddick got bad reviews but i loved it! (not because of vin diesle either!) and i am still trying to convince my boyfriend to watch the new exorcist film because i think it looks good (although i didn't think much of the original)

You might want to wait until the DVD release. E:TB was originally filmed by Paul Schrader (who wrote "Taxi Driver" and directed the 80's "Cat People" remake). His version ended up scrapped and Renny Harlin (best known for action movies like "Die Hard 2") took over for reshoots, but ended up starting from scratch.

There are rumblings that both versions may be included on the DVD release.

I have heard some bad reviews for this film as well, I would wait until it gets released on DVD and then watch it, At least then if everyone else was right and it is pony, you have not wasted money seeing it at the cinema. If you do like it once you watch it, From the money you would have saved from not going to the cinema you will be able to buy it. There are plenty of other great films out now with good reviews that you could go and watch, I don't think it will be that long before this gets released on DVD anyway....hope this helps Skinny, But like other people have said 'some films that most people think are pony, you might really like so you do have to make your own mind up, But maybe hold back a bit longer on this.

i just went to watch it yesterday, it's not a bad movie, but i wouldn't expect it to be anywhere close to terrifying as the 70's one. my boyfriend hated it but i thought it wasnt too bad.
