It's probably an unfounded rumour because of all the speculation about programmes being axed in light of the dire drop in advertising revenue for ITV.

Some 'past their sell-by date' shows like Heartbeat and The Royal are going, and Sharpe is not to be re-commissioned because of expensive foreigh locations.

Corrie however is a cast-iron certainty for revenue, attracting some of the highest fees for adverstising around its start and end, and its midde break.

So don't panic, there is no danger of it going anywhere.
