Can you freeze egg whites?

I am making some creme brulee later for which I need 6 egg yolks. I thought I would use the whites to knock up a couple of meringues for the freezer. However, I don't have room for 2 full size meringues (or several little ones). Just wondered if I could freeze the egg whites - I HATE waste.

Thanks Mrs O! I just couldn't abide the thought of throwing out perfectly good egg whites when I just KNOW I will need some in a couple of weeks.
