Settees from Argos

Has anyone ever bought a settee from Argos ? They have a really nice looking one that is quite cheap but hubby reckons it will be rubbish.

Jillius, I went into an Argos today and picked upa sale booklet.. you're right, some of them look okay!

but I'd never buy a sofa I hadn't sat on. don't they have some in bigger stores?

There is a big store near York and I have seen them and they look nice, really well made.
I was hoping someone might have said nice things lol
I like the ones in DFS but they are soooooooooo expensive. As hubby says...you get what you pay for !

We can't afford a really expensive one. Well we can, but he wants to save the money for a rainy day rather than get new settees cos he reckons the ones we have are still ok lol

I know DFS has jokey status but I bought 2 big leather sofas from them about 9 years ago.. they still look great (but I hate the colour now!).

don't they still do that "pay nothing for a year, then interest free for 3 years" thing?

oh right i see, i thought you had a really generous hubby then lol. surely he will let you buy a better settee rather than a cheaper one as it will last longer which saves you money in the long run.

my daughter had 2 leather sofas from Argos and whilst they looked good and were great for a 2 adult family, they would not have stood substantial use - ie a family with children

The ones we have now are from DFS and they are absolutely huge and lived in ! The cushions keep sliding off though. I fancy nice leather ones. Hubby won't get anything on credit. If we can't afford it we do without !

Hi Jillus! We have one from Argos!!!!! :o)

It's a corner settee unit thingy with a chaise (it's a funny shaped small room so this is all that would fit) and we have had it about 3 years. As someone who has back problems who has fallen asleep on it a few times I can honestly say when I have woken up it is the only time I have been pain free!!

Yes you pay for what you get (cost us about �250) but so far I would say ours has been worth the money :o)
