They dont make comedy like that any more,The interaction between Jimmy and Hylda absolutely great although I believe they hated each others guts. Also Walter how did he keep his face straight. Anyone else stuck in the same time warp as me? I read somewhere that Hylda Baker was talking about sueing Granada because she thought they had pinched her act for Hilda Ogdens mangling of the language. When they explained it was Mrs Malloprop who had inspired them she replied that she would sue her as well. Bravo Hylda.

I loved that programme! One of my favourite bits was Hilda crossing her arms under her chest and shaking slightly saying 'yes defective inspector' to a policeman!
Got one of the episodes on dvd! Brilliant! xxx
ITV3 have just completed a run of all the on the buses. Bad acting, obvious ad libs here and there where they forgot the script, sexist jokes, and clippies in short skirts. I loved it!

Back to N&D, I loved the old boy with the big ears.
I love most sitcoms and would like to see some good new ones.

Problem is they don't have a chance develop now. If the first series is not a huge success, it's dropped.

A couple of examples. HILDA BAKER Its like sodom and tomorrah. HILDA OGDEN Its good to ave your feet back on terracotta. Anyone remember any more. I must get a lickle hand on this watch was possibly overdone but at the time was common parlance and not just in Colne. Then there was Elies tongue twister. Knock kneed knackered old nosebag as he referred to Nellie. Ey up its all coming back. Has he beeeeeen? who Walter of course
oh shut up, yer big girl's blouse!

Hilda lived nearby and my mum and dad went to a party at her house.
He tells a few funny stories of that night and says she was very kind. She only ever drank champagne apparently!

She invited them to her house whilst in a club. She invited everyone in the bar too. She wasn't drunk or anything but did it quite often.
My dad said she always seemed a bit lost - on her own, without friends.
It's sad isn't it?
