Please ignore the post by TradeWithMe. This has been posted on several threads today.
Mmmmm....I just went to it and got "IE cannot display the website"
I read it with great interest, naomi.
I found it deeply moving.............an entirely different perspective on the familiar type of war story I am used to; and not the narrator of a story one is used to, either !

Me too, Monkeyeyes. I finished it just before I posted this question. It had such a profound effect on me - I'm still feeling the effects of it. What an extraordinary book!

There was one question that I felt was left unanswered at the end, but rather than spoil the book for anyone who might read it, I'll PM you to see what you thought.
Loved this book, probably one of the best books I have ever read.
Question Author
tickledtrout, I agree. What an unusual book it is - and so very well written. Unforgettable.
Thought this book was fantastic, passed it to my Mum as well and she said she couldnt put it down. I t is hard to believe it is a childrens book

I then went on to read Shadow in the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, which I couldn't put down.
Question Author
mosesg, I wasn't aware that it's a children's book. Where did you get that idea?

I loved the Shadow of the Wind too. I thought it was brilliantly written.
I heard that it is a children's story as well, aimed at young teens. Seem to remember seeing it with 2 different covers whenit was in hardback
Question Author
mosesg and tickledtrout, it seems you're absolutely right. It is a children's book! I'm astonished. What a wonderful book!
