you probably think that was a strange thing to want to know. it just seemed odd that it wasn't broadcast as part of the obit.

Why should his illness be "broadcast" ?? If he wanted it kept private then his wishes should be respected.

Ethel is right, it was made public after all, just not while he was alive and dying from it. That was his choice.
