The REDUCTION in crime wil of course correlate to the amount of police officers out and visible on the streets acting a a deterrent.

CCTV cameras are an essential tool and massively increase the DETECTION of crime.

So they need to be finely balanced together to achieve the best result.
CCTV cameras do not really deter crime, they just record it. It can help in the detection of the criminal, but not very often.

Where as a police officer whizzing by in their car at 60mph is no bl00dy good either.
Why not both ?
More jobs for decent rates of pay , a reduction in the insane rate of inflation, less cheap booze & a change from the me! me! me! I want! I want! I want! culture might help . We live in hope ......but unfortunately not very much
That's why I prefer the Hippies to the Designer Jeans brigade. You can keep 'The Apprentice'' give me Wolfy Smith.

Brionon Wolfy's sold out now, did'nt you know? He's now a dentist married to Zoe Wannamaker.
It's obvious. Cameras can't arrest miscreants.
