2. The only Frank Ballinger listed on imdb.com was in the series M Squad - he was played by Lee Marvin

Well a Pvt. Mick Hopper is a Russian Translator at the WO in "Lipstick on Your Collar".

IMDb has a search option for character names.Using it I found:
1) There are 47 entries for Mr Grant and I didn't feel like going through them all,but perhaps something might ring a bell.
2) Lt Frank Ballinger: M Squad (1957) played by Lee Marvin.
3) No Nick Hooper,but there was Pvt Mick Hopper in Dennis Potter's Lipstick On Your Collar played by Ewen McGregor.
