I recall watching a cowboy series with my dad in the 70's. It always ended with the main characters going off into the distance on a train. Anyone know what it was called?...ta.

It was called 'Alias Smith and Jones'.
Might have been 'Wild, Wild West'; they used a train carriage as a 'headquarters'.

Thanx for info guys. It was Wild Wild West! I have also found the theme tune. Cheers ;)
I bow to the superior knowledge of sddsddean! Thought it was Alias Smith and Jones. Never heard of Wild Wild West though!
Bizarrely, when I read the question, I thought it was Alias Smith and Jones too! Must have been a train in there somewhere Philtaz!
I vote for alias Smith and Jones as well. Wild Wild West was a recent film starring Will Smith. I don't think there was a TV series of it.
I thought it was "Alias Smith And Jones" too.
I think its Alias Smith and Jones but if they were lawmen of some kind its the Wild Wild West. There was a made for TV film on Channel 5 yesterday which had WWW in the title and they were secret agents of some sort whilst Smith and Jones where on t'other side of the law.
Alias Smith and Jones (starring Pete Duel and Ben Murphy - til Duel shot himself and was replaced) definitely did have them going off on a train at the end of each episode. Can't vouch for Wild Wild West. In Smith and Jones, they were offered an amnesty if they stayed out of trouble for 5 years, but in the meantime were still on the Most Wanted list, so had to evade capture without being caught doing anything illegal. Quite a nice premise really.
In alias smith and jones they often rode of into the sunset on their horses having some comical argument but never on a train ,not sure about the WWW but i do remember an episode where they took some potion that made everyone seem to be standing still but in reality it had increased their metabolism so they were travelling faster that the human eye.a wetern version of the avengers i think
gawd knows why this has appeared but i think it was Iron Horse with dale Robertson and Bob random, though they did a TV series of Wild Wild West with Rober Conrad and that was based on a train.
