You have nothing to worry about, for some reason this happens all the time with the itv channels, im not completely sure why, i guess itv are updating the channels.
It seems to happen every couple of months for about a week at a time, if you have a good television it will tell you there are some new services available and that you need to re-tune, otherwise just re-tune every so often till they come back.
I have had the same problem twice now.
It's a common problem on Freeview. Out of the six MUXs, four use 16QAM modulation and two use 64QAM.

64QAM is less robust, so any weakening of signal, noise, interference etc will affect the two 64QAM MUXs first.

And those two MUXs are the ones that carry the ITV & Five channels.

Please don't ask me to explain what QAM means [;-\
ours is really bad but we have an indoor ariel, we can only get ITV2+1! When we get an outdoor one fixed we should get all channels!! (we hope!!)
We have contstans problems with digital full stop! On all channels and when we're taping, it cuts off, no volume, no signal. I have given up on it.

Thank you all for your comments. I have retuned with no success and in fact on one set have lost all ITV signals completely! This has also happened to another family member living nearby.

Have retuned both sets yet again and ITV is back with us! Thanks again to everyone.
