Possibly setting myself up for a fall here, but I am sure we have all wondered about the other members on here and built up a mental picture of their appearance and personality. Its my question so I am going to stick my neck out and apologise beforhand if this causes any offence but it is only the images in my head. So here I describe the few that come to mind first. Quizmonster is a gentleman of older years who smiles much of the time, he has grandchildren for whom he makes the world a more exciting place with the stories he can tell them, I think he has had jobs he has enjoyed and would make an ideal next door neighbour who would help anyone if it was within his capabilities. Buttons is a young woman of about 24, slim, petite and dark and works with computers in a large office with mostly male colleagues, in her spare time she reads and likes the countryside as she lives in a busy town. Andy Hughes is late 30's, early 40's, dark hair about 5'11', wears a suit to work and takes his mind off his job playing sport at the weekends, would enjoy holidays in places like Vietnam and Peru but not Spain and Turkey.... how did I do? :o) Trudi x

I know QM is retired but won't comment on the others......I am sure there would be some colourful comments to describe me :>)
:)

Trudi, in my mind you are in your late 40s or over and love working on puzzles and playing scrabble in your spare time. You consider AB as a genuinely good source and use it to enhance your already vast knowledge (which, you have gained in a large part through television) and years of experience - of bringing up a family, for example.

How did I do?

Me, me!! Me next! What do you think I'm like?!
haha - thanks sft42, I did it!!
Come on trudi! What about me?

Hmmm..tartanwiz, young (mid 20's) male, collar length dark hair, tall.. just under 6', enjoys socialising with your mates... likes music and cars, but can't yet afford the car of your dreams..... howzat?? Beenee, female long blonde hair, interesting, sociable, amusing, confident and very early 20's....... right, thats all I am doing cos I can see myself getting in all sorts of trouble here.... and if you are interested, me.. very early 50's, like crosswords, scrabble and people watching.. have had a lifetime passion for horses, have ridden since I was 4 and am qualified to teach but have started a new life in Southern Spain 2 years ago... no children (conscious decision) and most of my experiences come from being a pub landlady! Right.. you lot guess about eachother, my lips are now sealed on this subject!!!!
Well your right about TW being under 6' tall....mind you he's about a foot under it!....and a little older than you imagine....dark hair not shoulder length though....I'll leave him to comment on the rest.
Aw c'mon sft - I'm not quite a Hobbit! (an Elf, maybe?) . Trudi - you are just as I imagined and furthermore you have curly brown hair, shoulder length but usually in a bun. I know you said you'd say no more, but you MUST do sft - it's only fair.
So what am i like?
do me next oh go on please please please please puuurrrlllllease oh go on oh pleaseeeeeeeeeee.... (and no "black with large helmet" jokes thankyou). sft is actually a 4 foot aboriginee with curly hair a pot belly and a rolex watch. It's true i've seen him (no aboriginees were harmed during the making of this response)
You got me almost "to a T", Trudi! Sadly, all my grandchildren live so far away from me - the closest, over 500 miles and the furthest, over 5,000 miles - that I rarely see them. When I do, though, what you say is apt.

In case you imagine I'm claiming to be nothing but 'sweetness and light', though, I have to admit I can be a cantankerous old swine when I feel like it, too.

As for yourself, I always think that women with names ending in the letter 'i' or the 'ee' sound are very young...early twenties at most, say. That covers the Jakkis, Trudies, Danniis and so on. Such names, in my day, were always abbreviations of longer names such as Jacqueline, Gertrude and Danielle and used largely only by friends. Now, mostly because of the way they are spelt, the link with the original names is lost.

Consequently, I had imagined you to be a mere lass! I'm sure you are none the less delightful for not being. Cheers

OMG! I was quite close on you huh Trudi?

You got everything but the blonde bit right on mine ;-)(do I sound like a blonde? :-/ ) --- (joke)

Have always had Andy Hughes down as a very good looking, dark haired man in his mid to late 30s, in a high executive position, who frequents AB mainly to amuse himself and share the contents of his naturally high IQ. nothing you say can change this image, Andy!

Quizmonster is in actual fact a self-teaching, evolving computer programme, which is the brain child of a smug, anonymous Programmer working on the 33rd floor of a giant IT firm.

Darth Vader is a man in his late 20s who has not lost the appearance or interests he had when he was a teenager. Always, always visualise him with a length of black cloth tied to his neck as a cape :-) Darth is intelligent and generous but also stubborn and hotheaded. Probably a Leo or Taurean.

I had a dream about Andy Hughes a few nights ago (not that kind of dream! lol) and he was being very helpful by helping me carry fence panels to the tip. He had a small wife with him and he had recently hurt his back. Andy has described himself as looking like 'Loyd Grossman', but in the dream he looked like a (walking) Stephen Hawking! Thank you for helping me in the dream Andy!! xx
Pretty good. except i'm 33 and Scorpio (not that i believe in Horrorscopes either no i didn't spell it wrong :-)
Quizmonster is an amalgam of Mr Chips, and my old Physics master. Brawburd is Gail Porter in disguise. Actually i never consider what people actually look like i just consider what i feel they "should" look like based on how i feel at the time, if you catch my drift? (sorta using the imagination - QM is more of a Gandalf than a Mr Chips on some days)

Oh Golly, I love this thread, it has a bit of reality merged with fantasy.. what could be better!... Beenee: in my mind you are the antithesis of the joke blonde but just seemed to have long fair hair.... SFT42 I think you are a bit of a conundrum, and have many sides to your character, you seem to me to be multifaceted, loyal, irreverent, kindly and cutting, obviously musically talented and not afraid of blowing Scotland's trumpet. I hope never to get on the wrong side of an arguement with you. :o)
i'm with you darth - quizmonster is gandalf!
I see brawburd as 25,with long blondish hair, who likes a drink. indiesinger has dark straggly hair, smokes roll-ups,likes art and a good night out. Quizmonster is a stately old gentleman(with pipe),who sits by his computer in a panelled room, with a vintage brandy at hand. Bit of an alcohol theme going down there! I know what sft42 looks like as I've seen a photo of him on the forum.A Scottish Laird if ever I saw one!!!
actually i've always seen sft42 as a wee nach mac feegle. Having seen his piccy on the forum i'm not far wrong :-)
