Can anyone think of any films that contain scenes of steam trains hurtling along or being fed coal or pistons and wheels and all that kind of thing, steam billowing etc. Black and white is fine - my mind has gone blank all i can think of is back to the future (part 3).

The Railway Children
The Titfield Thunderbolt
Brief Encounter .:-D
The First Great Train Robbery??? (Sean Connery, don't know if the word "First" was actually included)
Well Brief Encounter has trains in it as it mostly takes place in station but you do not see them stoking the engine. So it may not be what you are after. Classic film though.:-D
From Russia With Love (And I am not the secretary of the Sean Connery fan club!!!)
The Will Hay film "Oh Mr Porter"
"The Train" - Burt Lancaster
North West Frontier

definite stocking of coal there
Von Ryan's Express

A Fistful Of Dynamite

The General
Stand By Me
The Last Journey (about 1935)
The Peter Ustinov version of the Murder on the Orient Express.

Wild Wild West

Far and Away
The Lady Vanishes
I think there is a steam train scene in Doctor Zhivago
North by North West. Just as Cary Grant embraces Eve St Maarie Hitchcock cuts to their train hurtling into a tunnel. I wonder if he was trying to tell us something.
