Hi All,

The subject title is slightly misleading and I'm sorry if this is posted in the wrong place but I think a few of you may well listen to radio four and therefore have heard of this and I don't know where else to put it, it's not exactly music....

There's an Irish guy who probably did programmes like 'just a minute and what have you. I don't know his name. He has the most beautiful voice and read a poem which was about getting drunk on something (not just drink but life in general).

I'd love a copy of this but I'm not really sure what I'm searching for. I don't know if he wrote the poem and I obviously don't know who he is!

Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction to start looking?

Cheers
China xx
Ps: Youtube links don't help too much as this computer closes down if I try to open them!

I would post your question on the Radio 4 website, I'm sure there is a forum/messageboard on there.
What sort of age is he?

Hi NJOK,

I don't know.... sounds older. Perhaps 45 - 60ish.

I don't actually know if he has ever been on Just a Minute but I would have thought programmes of that ilk would be what he was suited to.

He's almost like an after dinner speaker... I don't think he's exactly a comic or a DJ. The poem that he was doing was in front of a live audience as you could hear them laughing so I don't really know what he is!

I'm sorry love, that's not really a lot to go on.
Sounds like Henry Kelly to me.

I heard him recently on the radio, but can't remember if it was Classic FM or Radio 4.

Thanks everyone for trying to help but someone who speaks 'China Doll' has just informed me that I'm a young savage and what I actually heard was this....

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/get-drunk/ and it was Liam Clancy that I'd heard doing.
