Not answering your question directly, but our neighbour has a setup that might interest. Thy've mounted a projector high up on one wall on a shlefpointing across to the opposite wall where the've painted a white screen using special reflective paint. Thus they get a huge screen without taking up the space that even a flat plasma screen would.
Follows extract from Which? on-line "LCD televisions We looked at the Sony Wega KLV30MR1 (3,200 or more), which has a large 30-inch screen. It comes with a separate tuner box, which houses the analogue TV tuner, and into which you can plug any other sources, such as a DVD player or VCR. Two cables run from this box to the screen. This was the most impressive of all three new-technology TVs when we used it to show a test card. However, our expert viewers weren't so impressed when watching films, saying it lacked detail in darker areas of the picture, and seemed harsh and unnatural." This ties up with what an aquaitance of mine told me to effect that it was not great for watching sport like football or Rugby. Envy you the choice though!
