It's by Micheal Nyman and I think it's just called the theme from 'the Piano'. Used to have it but no more.

Yup, It's called "The Piano" and by Michael Nyman. As a point of interest, in the film, Holly Hunter played the music herself. I dont know if this is true on the CD tho', since I also am no longer in possesion of it :(
