Are the jewellery items are this show really 'the bargins' they appear to me. Is the jewellery really worth the prices they state & then you only pay about a third? Also why do people buy things like crockery sets & curtains?

Not sure about the jewellery but the semi-precious stone globe that claim is worth 1000 can be found in most highstreets for about 300.
No not really cause they only have to find one shop where these prices are at an inflated level. And something else they don't tell you is that you have to pay VAT on top of the price that the auction ends at!
So you have to pay VAT, postage and packing, and the 1 a minute its costs to phone in your bids (which you are paying whether you are a successful bidder or not). Maybe not such a bargain after all.
I have bought 4 items on Bid Up TV. The phone call lasts about 40 secs..so costs you 60p. (that is if you bid a reasonable price so you are not continually on the phone). The price includes VAT but postage is added so must be taken into account. You must decide if something is worth it or not. I bought a FILA watch. they said it was worth 140. I paid 50+p&p. Nice watch,I thought it was worth how much I paid. They take 3 high street prices and give the average price. Bargains are there, but judgement must come into it also.EG:Ben Sherman watches seem to be sold in job lots and I think they are a special purchase by the tv Co.They are only worth the 25 they normally sell for.Still not bad if you wanted one.
