Question Author
1 & 2: agree, 3: I haven't seen but if it is the film about Peters Sellers life, I shall have to because he was a genious! 4: yes, 5: ABSOLUTELY! 6 & 7: pretty good, 8: Don't know that one but 'It's a wonderful life' is brilliant, as most of James Stewarts' films were, 9: Especially Marathon Man. So, as I agree with most of your choices, I shall let you off of sneaking a few more in!
(When asked this question recently everyone went for Shawshank redemption but i will resist :-)

I didn't realise this had been asked before. When AB said there were not any similar q.s, I went ahead and posted! Schindlers List, for me anyway, is a film that's out there on it's own as being the most moving, but one I can't class as most enjoyable (for obvious reasons). Godfather, Goodfellas, excellent, Sliding Doors was great and made me think of all the 'what if's' (and happy with where I am now), Forrest Gump & Saving Private Ryan are faves too. Paper Moon, Bonnie and Clyde, Being There, Grounhog Day, Blues Brothers (and 2000), you're right - it's impossible to name just 5, sorry. BTW, I'm trying to remember the name of the film (I've seen umpteen times) where Garth and his sidekick say 'excellent' and 'we're not worthy'...please put me out of my misery!!

..and Close Encounters, Bird (The Charlie Parker biog.), most Cary Grant and David Niven films, African Queen, Mad Max, Payback, the film where Michael Douglas finally loses his rag with everyone? Rather eclectic, I know!
Question Author
Just remembered, it was Waynes World, completely silly but I liked it!
Waynes world waynes world party on excellent..... you didn't say enjoyable just "your 5 favourite" - i guess it would be a bit bizarre to put Schindlers List in my top 5.....

Right, 3rd attempt at posting this q. (hope AB approves of this one..) I think we both know what we mean and feel about S.L. Darth. Have thought of some films that stick in my mind; Sc*m (the stuff you get around the edge of the bath), N*l by M**th (the thing you eat with), Str*w D*gs. Hope this is ok now AB Ed?

I meant 'answer' not q.
Question Author
and just to prove I have a softer side; Kramer v Kramer, Bambi, E.T., Dulcima, Ryans Daughter, Whistle down the Wind,
1. Its a wonderful life. 2. Some like it hot. 3. Star Wars. 4.Yankee Doodle Dandy. 5. Singing in the rain. I love old films what can I say. Although in time I suppose the new films will be classics, what do you reckon?
Question Author
d bottoms, I love lots of the old films too - a huge part of my collection of books are biogs & autobiogs of all the 'old' film stars (Niven, C.Grant, Olivier, Flynn, Sellers etc). I am sure that some of the new(ish) ones will become classics too; Philadelphia, Schindlers List, The carry on films (joking). I liked The Truman Show too (even though I'm not a Jim Carey fan)
Just seen this Q. been a bit slack good answers so far duplicating some ie the matrix, star wars, back to the future, lord of the rings only the cartoon version is awesome, the goonies wowowow luved it and of course the never ending story and la hun oops everyones goin over sorry.
Hi coggles mine would be in no particular order 1.The Lost Boys 2. The Breakfast Club 3.Romeo Must Die 4. The Crow 5.and probably Goodfellas.
Question Author
Hello manutdstott, the reason for only 2 *'s is because (I'm ashamed to say) I have only seen one of the films you mentioned!! As it is Goodfellas (which I thought was brilliant) it got 2 **'s just on it's own!
