So poor Ray gets the boot from Strictly Come Dancing - an excellent dancer who should have made the final if not won it. Spoony was the same. And Mica wasn't bad enough to merit going first. In previous series, Denise Lewis and Colin Jackson were hot favourites but got dumped. No-one can convince me that their biggest disadvantage is not the colour of their skin. This is awful, particularly in this day and age and all seem such lovely people. I really feel for all of them. Your thoughts please...

I can't really see how the results of the last two series can show any racism - in Series 2 the only black person was Denise Lewis, who came 2nd...Jill Halfpenny was good, and deserved to come 1st. In the last series Colin Jackson came 2nd, don't think he was the best, so why should he come 1st?

I've heard comments before about this series. Although I don't vote anyway, if I did I wouldn't vote for anyone I didn't know. I'd never heard of Mica Paris. I don't think alot of older people who watch the show would know who DJ Spoony was either - I only know his name, don't know anything else about him, so I wouldn't vote for him either.

I really don't know if there's any conenction with race at all, but looking at the shows I can't find enough evidence to suggest there is...
I'd go along with that. The ones that are left are more well known names, with the exception maybe of that smeikel (?) bloke, who I reckon will go next time anyway even if he wasn't rubbish - which he is.

but viewers are supposed to be voting for the best dancers, not the best-known names...
Me, I don't vote, but if I did, it would, to be honest, be for the most fanciable bird in a short skirt, and not the best dancer. I'm probably not alone in that, at least for having some other reason for WHY I voted.
Whilst I agree that viewers should vote for the best dancers this is clearly not the case.

Viewers always vote for their favourite celebrity in these competitions- that is why it is quite farcical.

I don't see any evidence of racism in SCD - I think in last nights case, viewers honestly believed that Ray didn't need the phone support as he would not be leaving, because a lot of other people would vote for him.

The sympathy vote went to Peter, from all the sports fans.
read an article in the Sun the other day written by Jeremy Clarkson saying that black people never win reality shows, and when i sat back and thought about it............. Andy Abrahams (far far better than Shayne............whatshisname) Colin Jackson far better dancer last year..........and when you think about all the other reality shows, pop idol, american idol, whatever?? I just dont get it?? but until i read his article it hadnt even crossed my mind?
ps it was either jez Clarkson or Kelvin Mckenzie.....apologies if i got it wrong xx
I remember a few years ago when they had celebrity fame academy. The guy from casualty (Kwame I think his name is), and boy, could he sing!

Anyway he lost out to Will Mellor I believe, who had already had a couple of chart hits anyway, but in reality, couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.
I don't think Ray should have gone, he's a great dancer, but I do think people felt they did'nt have to vote for him as he would get through anyway. real shame.

Don't think its race related, people of any colour can vote!
