The extra chapter of Picnic At Hanging Rock

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what happens in the extra chapter of Picnic At hanging Rock, the one that was included when the book was briefly reissued under the title of The Secret of Hanging Rock? I've been told that the book is better without it, but I would still be interested in knowing what the chapter was about, especially as its almost impossible to get a copy of Secret of Hanging Rock these days.

It IS too specific about what happens ' where the film only hints at the mystery the last chapter shows some supernatural occurrences which spoil the effect somewhat. I can't be specific, because my copy is still packed at my brother's after a recent move of house and it's a few years since I read it, but I did feel the film and probably the book were better off without it.

I bought the book and the video years ago and love them both, so I was really excited to learn about the missing chapter - until I knew what it contained - now I heartily wish I'd never heard about this last bit - it's absolute drivel and has totally spoilt my enjoyment of this evocative piece. Enjoy the original and the best version - I wish I had.
