I know that the series was made sometime ago now - but are there any fans out there of the adaptation of P G Wodehouse's novel for tv?

I think Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry are brilliant playing the dim but likeable Bertie and the invincible Jeeves , respectively .

I love the way Bertie is always getting into trouble as a result of the silly schemes either dreamed up by himself or suggested by others - then having to be rescued by Jeeves .

I also love the fact that Jeeves appears to have a knowledge of every subject under the sun and the way he speaks , NOT using simple words , phrases or sentences

Is ( were ) some peoples lives soley preocupied with the subjects in the storylines ?

I just wished more series were made

I'm old enough to remember the Jeeves & Wooster when Ian Carmichael was in it. I must admit I never thought anyone would be able to top them, but yup, F& L do just that. Watch it every weekend on ITV3 or 2 (?), one of the Sky channels anyway. Rollicking good show, as Bertie would say!!
My newts and I never miss it!
I loved that series, must rewatch it soon.
The BBC made some wonderful adaptations of the novels with Michael Hordern as Jeeves and Richard Briers as Wooster which are available on tape and (possibly) CD.I recommend these,as well, particularly Joy In The Morning.
I think Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry are excellent in their roles, and I couldn't think of a better team.Have you ever read the original Jeeves and Wooster books Bazile? They are even funnier!!
I felt that there should have been a bit more of an age difference between the pair but otherwise they're perfect. However, lindapinda is right: the books are even better.

Hi folks - thank you all for responding - it is great to hear from fellow admirers of this excellent series .

I must admit that I did not realise that other adaptations had been made of the novels - surely they are not as funny as the latest , starring messrs Laurie and fry ?

Lindapinda - I must confess that I have never read the original books.
Apart from the story lines , what I find hilarious is the facial expressions of both actors - however given your advises that the books are even funnier ( even though I cannot imagine them , to be so ) I will definitely read them - sounds as if I am in for a treat
