The Faces were Rod's backing group. The Small Faces who sang this song were lead by Steve Marriott.
Steve Marriott quit The Small Faces in 1969. The three other members (bassist Ronnie Lane, organist Ian McLagan, and drummer Kenney Jones) joined forces with former members of the Jeff Beck Group (singer Rod Stewart and guitarist Ron Wood) to form The Faces.
now that's a supergroup.

Rod the mod, the guitarist from the stones, and the drummer from the who. Would love to have seen that. Who'd have guessed how big they'd turn out to be in their lives?
I love this song, one of my favourite lyrics of all time!

I feel inclined to blow my mind
Get hung up feed the ducks with a bun
They all come out to groove about
Be nice and have fun in the sun
Stevie Marriott nicked the tune from 'God Be In My Head', a hymn by Sir Henry Walford Davies (1869-1941), based on a 15th-Century Gaelic blessing.

"Feed the ducks with a bun" is one of my favourite lyrics of all time, along with "Just ate a horse meat pie" from the Stones' "Bitch".
Dear Dr. John,

You must have a bun in each ear mate.

Stevie Marriott definatly did not as you say ."nicked" the tune for Itcycoo Park from 'God Be In My Head', by Sir Henry Walford Davies. Sounds nothing like it.
You must of been on something whilst comparing.

Still, let's not fall out over it .ther'e both"all to beautiful"

Excuse the bun, sorry pun!
