What does "M.O" stand for in crime progs?

Whenever I watch police dramas, etc, I often hear the phrase, "they have the same M.O." - what is M.O. an abbreviation for?

Modus Operandi (latin) or method of operation.
For example a particular burglar's M.O. could be to gain entry through the cat-flap.
