I`ve just read on teletext that Martin (Fowler) gets to spend 30,000 being compensation for his dad`s death "In prison". I seem to remember Arthur collapsing on his allotment leading to his death. Am I wrong?

I think his death was due to a bang on the head he received whilst in prison but didn't die until after his release. I can't remember how he got the bang on the head tho.

Yes, that makes sense. I do remember him being set up and wrongly imprisoned but felt sure that he was released.
Aha! Found this;

"Arthur Fowler suffered a blow to head during a prison riot"

I guess that answers how he got the blow to the head. Can't seem to find anywhere that actually says where he died.

I do seem to recall him keeling over on his allotment as well.
i know this isn't an answer to your question but why would martin get the compensation, wouldn't it go to pauline, his widow?

Load of miserable ******* anyway.

I did wonder why Martin should get the money - but that is what it said on the soaps site. Maybe Pauline doen`t get anything because she`s leaving. I suppose all will be revealed (or not) soon. W.M. The Christmas Club theft was before my viewing time although of course I had heard about it - because that made it easier for his `mate` to set him up. Can`t remember the details but he was definitely set up.
I think Martin might get it because Pauline is getting killed off - it's in the tv mags this week that Sonia bumps her off

SPOILER
Hi Ward~Minter,

He was set up by Willy Roper. They thought Arthur had stolen the money that had been raised for the wilderness fund. Your probably thinking of when Arthur did actually steal some money and that was to pay for Michelles wedding to Lofty but that was before all that happened, hence because of his record it was easier for Willy to set him up. When it actually came to light it was Wiley Willy, Arthur had already received the blow to the head and it was only a matter of time......
I reckon pauline dont get the money cos she's the one who caused his bang on the head,,,,,,,,,,you DO remember the frying pan round the head dont you???
Was that when Pauline found out he was playing away with Mrs Hewitt?? Good 'ol Pauline! lol
Thats it wingnut,haha!
