night seem abit dated.. but i found it really funny... chris barrie was excellent..go for it!

it's in the library, take it out. Doesn't cost much.

Was a while back, used to like it, remember it being a bit cringeworthy though. Gordon Brittas (Chris Barrie's character) is similar to Rimmer from Red Dwarf

Well it is all down to taste but I hated it.

Chris Barrie was cringeworthy (I know the character was meant to be).

Most of the cast were pretty awful and the few times I caught part of it I did not find it funny at all.

yeah i used to love that programme.....
I used to love it - I thought he was the most cringeworthy character before I saw David Brent. Give it a go - well worth it
Don't bother - it's drivel of the very worst kind!

It will look dated, but if you like comedy of the grotesque - which Gordon Brittas is - you will enjoy it.

Apparently Chris Barries based the odious personality, and voice, of Gordon on someone he used to work with who, no matter what point was made, would always interject with - in pure Brittas whine - "No ... no, you;re wrong there ..."

It may be a bit of an acquired taste but I loved it. I think Chris Barrie's portrayal of the worst kind of jobsworth is excellent. As a point of interest in was mainly filmed at Ringwood leisure centre, not far from where I live.

Like most sitcoms you can find those who both love and Loathe it. Just watch a few episodes and you'll soon know which camp you are in.

this BBC Comedy Guide may help you decide osprey.

It gets my recommendation too. However, when I purchase a series a year back I didn't find it as funny as my memory had told me. Good but not super-good - CB is excellent in it.
Dreadful series, I'm surprised they made 7 episodes let alone 7 series!
Awww I remember that!! Must have been on for alot of the nineties, I remember watching it when I was 8/9/10 ish! I liked it back then, not sure if I'd still find it funny. I say give it a go!

This was weird for me. I absolutely hated this show and yet I'd always tune in to watch it to see if it's got any better.

Chris Barrie just had something that made me want to smack him in the teeth.

I remember what it was now, it was the way he held his hand together in front of him, bent down a little and talked through his nose (not literally through his nose.)

The only good thing about this is that when I watch Green Wing I can say "Joanna Clore was in The Brittas Empire" or "Harriet was in The Brittas Empire" but that's about it.

Terrible, Dreadful, Awful,, but ...... my husband loved it, its personal taste.
