I found a bug in my garden that I have never seen before it was just over an inch long, mostly green in colour but with pink at the tips of the wings and at the tail end of its body. Its legs and antena were white. Can anyone identify this bug for me?

It's a leaf cutter bug, normally is surrounds it's self with frothy spit (cukoos spit) on leaves.
Which country are you in? Its always helpful as not everyone on here is in the UK. The creature in the UK that creates cuckoo-spit is the common frog-hopper in the larval stage- the adult is only about 5mm long so not that one! Sounds like one of the larger shield bugs- possibly the Hawthorn or the Green Shield bug but need more description. Wings closed or open? Longer than body? Hard carapace? Any other details?
