does anyone know if its safe to take hayfever tablets while pregnant

I didn't when I was pregnant but I did get a thing (can't think what it was called - like an ioniser but about three foot high and could be used to filter the air for pollen, cigarette smoke and some other things - also don't know how much it cost!) so that I could at least get a good night's sleep and have pollen-free air when I was at home!

Most hay fever medicines shouldn't be taken while pregnant but there are a few exceptions. If you feel you can't get through the summer you really need to make an appointment with your doctor to discuss what options are available.

Incidentally, Mrs Pid normally gets bad hay fever every year & was dreading last summer when she was pregnant. She decided she would do her best not to take anything & funnily enough she hardly had any discomfort at all!

see your doctor there are certain antihistamines that you can take during pregnancy but he may have to prescribe them
