how did saving private end? i've never seen the whole of this film before

they found Ryan, but Tom Hanks gets shot on the bridge as they try to defend it from the advancing panza division, (not sure if it was a panza division but it sounds good) Vin Diesel dies half way through too, which was a shame.

And the very end, if I recall correctly, has the elderly Ryan visiting the cemetery in which Hanks' character is buried.
