hav u ever been diving dot? it dusnt at all appeal to me to be honest...sunbaths or dive in shark infested waters...now where is that sunlotion...and my copy of HEAT magazine...
I googled tonight and theres theories saying they faked their deaths, they drowned, they were eaten by sharks etc, etc,it said they were in water for 48 hrs,and their names were Tom and something, something,oh dear cant remember, but anyway the whole film is basically fictionilized,
It's not a true story, though it's based on an actual incident when two divers were left behind on an Australian expedition. The rest is fiction.

The two divers were never found- just their crate of clothes etc that was left on the boat and their car left at the marina. As jno has already pointed out- the rest of the film is fiction.

There have been a few cases in the news over the last few years of divers being left behind by their boats, so it's not unheard of.

With regards to the point about a camera being found in a shark's stomach- it's apparently not uncommon for "rubbish" to turn up in the stomach of a shark- tin cans, bits that have fallen off boats, I've even heard of part of a car number plate.

youngrusscle- sharks on the whole are fairly harmless to us, as long as you obey some sensible rules. They are fabulous creatures, sadly on the decline, with many species close to becoming endangered. I have had the good fortune to have seen quite a few while I have been diving and they are quite majestic- the biggest problem is getting close enough to take a decent photo, as they are quite wary of divers.
