Please put my wife out of her misery. While you are doing that, can anyone tell us how Ray died. We saw the end of an episode with him lying at the bottom of the stairs, but did Louise thump him or what? Did she find out he was the stalker?(We assume it was him, as he is the only one who knew her new mobile number). Thanks for any explanations.

I didn't see that particular episode but, previous to that, Louise did discover that Ray was the stalker. She had confided in Diane at the Woolpack that she had kept the stalker's mobile number after he had sent her messages. As she was about to return to Ray to leave the village, she dialled this mobile number and left a message to the effect that she was leaving. What she didn't see but we did (can you see a sound?!) was Ray's briefcase in the back of his car, and a mobile phone ringing. On their way out of the village in the car, Louise finds Ray's second mobile phone and comments there is a missed message on it. Ray tells her to leave it be, but she insists on listening and, of course, hears her own message. Being sensible, she tells Ray it's a message from Diane. However, it comes about that Louise tries to escape from the car and Ray, obviously, is trying to stop her. They end up crashing. Louise wakes up first and runs back to the village, but there's no one around - they are all up at the Tates' following a power cut. So she goes to her house and tries to ring Terry, with no luck. At that moment, Ray walks in. That's the last I saw!
Ray survived the crash and came back to the house presumely to finish Louise off, there was a chase through the house and she ran upstairs, he followed and she walloped him with the vase and he fell back down the stairs. Terry got her message and came to the house just as she was about to ring the police and persuaded her not to. They left everything as it was and Terry told her to go up to homefarm where the village was having it's Christmas and tell everyone that as they were on their way to the airport Ray got a call back to work. I don't know when but Louise eventually goes home and phones the police telling she's found Ray's body.
Respect for Emmerdale for being the best christmas day soap, funny how there was also a death in Eastenders and an attempted murder in Coronation Street. Supposed to be the time of love and cheer. Im sure Terry will be chief suspect on Emmerdale until the Police listen to Louise's message on Ray's phone, bet she wishes she never left Donald Fisher now eh?
Im not a huge fan of Emmerdale, as Im never infront of the telly at that time, but I do i do catch it occasionally, and I thought Ray was Louise's boyfriend? And that they were living together (?) If so, then why did he need to stalk her? As he could see her whenever he wanted?? :oS

Thanks very much flirty and froggy. As it happens, we managed to catch the omnibus on ITV2. I loved how Louise managed to run all the way home from 'miles away' in the country and after being in the house 2 minutes, a bloodstained Ray turned up... just like real life!! Thanks again.
For Moonhead, Ray had this peculiar obsessive thing going on inside his head, he believed he was in love with Louise and he didn't like sharing her. Apparently it started as 'a bit of fun' when she was given a present by someone but didn't tell him, he 'punished' (my own words) by scaring her a bit but obviously he continued. He wanted her exclusively to himself so he continued his campaign until he got what he wanted.
