Just watched Manchester Passion on BBC3. I'm not a Christian but I think the money from the licence fee that went towards it was well spent. What did other Christians and non-Christians think of it?

Hi, just wached this too and I thought it was great, its really good to see the BBC making quality programmes for a change!

I suppose, I would say I am 'Christian' but I don't really follow any religion as such. I thought the telling of the story was really well done and well acted (I even didn't mind Keith Allen & I usaully can't stand him) also a great choice of music to convey the right emotions at the right time - best tv soundtrack for a long time!

It's quite unusual for the BBC to show a programme that celebrates Christianity as it is usually very 'PC/Multi-cultural' and tends to shy away from specifically Christian programming in some mistaken fear of 'offending' various ethnic groups.

Overall, I found Manchester Passion to be a great bit of TV.

A xXx

i am not religious but i love my manchester music and i thought it was great with an excellent choice of fitting songs.....wish i had headed the 5 miles down the road to Albert Square to watch it in person ......as a James fan of old i was pleased to see Tim Booth back on it - also the guy who played Jesus was fantastic. 'I am the ressurection' from the top of the Town Hall - fab!

Hi msemma, missed the BBC3 as hubby was watching the Crusader prog, but just finished watching the re-run on BBC2.

All I can say is that as a Christian I'm thrilled to bits that at long last someone has had the guts to put on the Easter story that makes sense and has the ability to reach all people through great story telling and music.

The high point for me was the true description of the crucifixion and the triumphal ending at the top of the clock. Great stuff! Annoyed I didn't think to tape it though. Happy Easter everyone!

Msemma, I thoroughly enjoyed this, hadn't considered myself a Manchester music fan but I think i am now.Thought it was an excellent way of communicating about Good Friday to the masses - whether you believe or not

We watched the re-run too. Thought it was excellent. Can't remember the last time I watched a religious programme that was so good. The songs picked were so approriate and well performed. We found the whole thing really moving and certainly wished we had been there. Hope it will become an annual event.
