After watching the orignal version of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" the other night. I was wondering just exactly how much of the movie is actually true?.

At the start of the movie it mentions that it is based on true events
..yes but "based" is the key word of the sentence, the TCM was inspired( if not very loosley) by the real life story of the serial killer Ed Gein... see this link for more info on Gein http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Gein
pheww.... I had always wanted to know that too, the recent film was really really scarey. Still off to see hostel tomorrow...so I can have nightmares about that for a month instead.
