Doctors are advised to stop wearing ties on health grounds. A light hearted view of a news story for once, but what will be the new smart wear if the MRSA carrying tie dies a death?

I can already hear the cheers of schoolchildren

i don't think it'll affect anyone but doctors... and they don't need to wear ties in clinics and hospitals to do their jobs properly. i read a paper in the BMJ saying that most patients prefer their doctors to be smart-casual anyway!

maybe a bow tie... less dangling...
