Agggggh!!!! Can anyone please help...... my friend's 23rd bday is in a couple weeks time and I'm looking to get him one of those Interactive Game DVD's that are currently on the market. Thing is, I've read a few of the reviews of games like Family Fortunes, WWTBAMillionaire, Name that tune etc. on Amazon and frankly the reviews are not that positive!!!

Does any1 have one of these interactive dvd's of know of any from experience that they can recommend?

Thank you!!

Avoid the Catchphrase one. Its pants!! This may not be much help. It shows you the 'catchphrase' gives you a choice of what it may have been and says is that what you thought it was. To top it all its not even Roy Walker its some numpty with a poor Irish accent

Hahahaha!! If it ain't Roy, it's not worth it! Thans for your advice itsallyellow. Catchphrase is crossed of my list as from now.

Ali.

My friend bought the WWTBAM and it is quite frustrating with the loading and waiting. Far better laugh to play the board game.
we bought for entertaining the 'family for christmas' Trivial Pursuit DVD - thinking it was all on DVD - but it isn't - very misleading - only 1 question on the DVD rest as normal board game (will be selling on eBay!) - but then we also bought Beat the Intro - not that bad but most of the songs are 'old'
I've got the Cathphrase one, I myself think its great. But you can only really play two player because you have to share a remote as a buzzer. Another one I think is amazing is Now thats what I call music quiz. It covers a range of decades too so for all the family and I have bought for my mates.

Hi Alison S

I've got Beat The Intro II. I really enjoy it. The music is more up to date than the original and you can play one player or as a group with pen and paper. Best part is that Woolies were doing it for 7.99 but I don't know if they still are.

Andrew

The Bullseye one's smashing.

We played the 'Family Fortunes' one at Christmas, and fared very badly as the answers are sourced from Australians! For example, what would be the biggest thing putting you renting a flat..top answer..cockroaches!

Also did the 'Bullseye' one..couldn't see an awful lot of connection between when you hit the button and where the dart landed, questions were very easy, but we laughed a lot doing this.

As a bit of a quiz anorak I received a few of these games for christmas T.V addicts provided a big hit at the xmas gathering fun for all ages and covers every era of popular T.V.

If he has got a playstation get the game Buzz, you will not be disappointed.

i got the star wars trivia pursuit dvd game, its great fun, but you do need to be a fan to enjoy it.
I'd agree with PEATBOG, the Trivial Pursuit one is a bit of a con as you rarely get to use the DVD. I think all of the interactive DVD's are pretty slow at the moment as they are new out.

I enjoyed playing The Great British Pub Quiz DVD on Christmas Day. Here it is for sale on Amazon:

The reviews aren't very good but I found it quite enjoyable. We had 2 teams of 2 people playing it and I don't agree with many of the reviews on Amazon. The only gripe is that the game never tells you the answers.

The "Now thats what I call a Music Quiz" game is good! Ive tried the Gary Linekar football game too and thats good!
