I watched this last night on Disney & on the whole, I enjoyed it.  I like a satisfying ending & this gave one.  Whether or not Kenneth Branagh does it for you as Hercule Poirot, he - for me - pretty much (sort of ๐Ÿค”) got it right here.

Now - while I get that the camera angles & jumping around lent a certain something to the plot, it jarred with me somewhat, especially early on in the film.

If you've just under 2 hours to kill & fancy something that isn't too demanding, this might fit the bill ๐Ÿ™‚

I think I've read the book although I'm not entirely sure. Unfortunately we don't have Disney or I'd probably give it a go, I do enjoy not too taxing things sometimes...๐Ÿ˜Š

Hi Vagus - it's based on Christie's "Hallowe'en Party", so that'll be what you're remembering ๐Ÿ™‚

You're probably right ๐Ÿฆ

How're you doing these days? Is Christmas looming for you or are you ok? x

I didn't mind Branagh in MotOE and I thought the film itself was perfectly serviceable as a Christie adaptation, but the follow-up was a turkey imo. This latest one is intriguing because it's such a "deep cut" story to adapt, but I'm sure Ken knows what he's doing. I'll definitely watch it when I'm able.

Vagus - thank you... Ah, tbh, I'm not really ok, but I know it's ok to not be ok (ta to Barmaid for reminding me, that never left me).  So, just muddling through each day.  Christmas will be kind of just another day, but with better grub, too much to drink & (every day's) thoughts & tears & "I miss you"s.

Sorry for that kind of answer, but you asked!

I wish you & yours the best Christmas & a Happy New Year! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Question Author

Fleshy - I enjoyed it, but it's "odd"...

Interested in your opinion when you've watched ๐Ÿ™‚

๐Ÿฆ I asked because I am genuinely interested in how you are, so for you to answer in such an honest way is very brave, and I thank you.
Too many people say 'oh I'm fine' when in fact they're not. And barmaid is quite right, she's a sensible lady.

I don't come here very much but there are a handful of people who I think about for various reasons, you and mamy are two of them. She was a lovely person who spoke a lot of sense, along with having a quick wit and not suffering fools, defo my kind of person, there are a couple of things she said to me that I have taken on board.

I hope you get through Christmas the best way you can xx๐Ÿง‘‍๐ŸŽ„
