Could anyone tell me the childrens programme that two children climed through a fence of an army camp and went it to a time warp into the ice age. People laying on beds machines that gathered their thoughts and went old and died. The man that was blind was their father. Next series was the heat age. Very bad acting if we was to see it today. But thats what we watched in the early 70s.

sounds like Timeslip

the whole series has been available on DVD for ages.

Ah the memories! To this day whenever I walk under a sign like that (roadsign etc) I always look out for dinosaurs. Whatever happened to Spencer Banks (was that his name?!)?

Thank You for your help. It was Timeslip. Simon Banks was played by Simon Randell.

Spencer Banks played the young Simon throughout the series. I don't think he is acting any longer.

Simon did meet his older self I think, which is most likely where the other actor's name comes from.
