How do you look after your skin?
Do you cleanse and moisturise before bed and do you use anything to discourage lines, blemishes etc.
If you do, I'd be interested to know what you use although I fear I may have left it too late.

I don’t use anything Barsel, I have quite sensitive skin, even on holiday when I have to put sunscreen on my face , I end up with a few small spots either on my brow or where my nostrils are, although I’m pleased I have no wrinkles….yet,if I have, I call them my laughter lines x
Astral all my life, sister the same, mother wore Nivea - but I am using it from I was 16 years old. I guess for 70 it's not too bad.

Do have a friend whose skin is unbelievably wrinkled - due to smoking - very bad crevices. I don't have those I know cos I've scrutinised.

Just two weeks ago was in my sister's house and her friend passed by I had never met before but she just said right away upon meeting me - oh your skin is beautiful but I did have makeup on - so that helped LOL
I use moisturiser after a shower, that's all really. I'm honestly not worried if I end up with wrinkles or not x

You are lucky Bobbs.
I have frown lines, laughter lines, lines all over the place.
My skin hasn't faired very well.
Just wondered if there are any products on the market that might help or perhaps I've left it too late.
If I were to proffer any product I think it would be the pure Aloa Vera Barsel
Question Author
JJ haven't heard of Astral.
I remember when I was at school even at such a young age, one of the girls would put Nivea on her face. Wish I had done the same.
I have used no7 products for years. I use an oil-based cleanser in the evening to remove makeup, shower, then apply a serum, then just before bed a Night cream. ( No7 Restore & Renew) In the morning I use a cleansing wipe and rinse with cold water. I apply serum and a day cream. (no7 lift & Luminate) Once a week I use an exfoliante, and occasionally a face pack.
Same age as Bobbi. Oh, ok...a few months younger ;)
When I was in my teens I probably treated my skin terribly...all to rid myself of spots.
Because my skin was oily, I never moisturiser. I too have some laughter lines, but they don't bother me. I'm sure that if I'd smoked and baked in the sun for the past 30 years I'd be in far worse nick. Over the years I've sometimes used vitamin c serums.
I don't like soap so have used micellar water and make up wipes for a number of years. But I recently read that they don't really clean, so I'm using a gentle face wash now.

I have some Aloe Vera gel in a tube but can't remember what I bought it for!
Friend of mine, (same age as us Bobbs) puts full make up on everyday but she does the full cleansing thing at night, and her skin is much better than mine.
Perhaps it's in the genes.
My mum used, astral.... barsel, honestly, don't waste your money. Other than botox or surgery, you'll just be how you are meant to be.
Creams might make your skin feel better, but really, I think it's down to genes.
Cross-posted.
Pixie is right Barsel
Question Author
Yes Pixie, I think you're right.
Don't remember my Mum having a lot of wrinkles, but definitely my Nanna did.

APG and Pasta, I've read about VitC serum being good for the skin but when I looked it up, thought it was a bit expensive.
Can you tell me which you use and where you buy it from please?
Yes I use a gentle cleanser as I have a greasy skin but don't want to strip it of it's natural qualities.
Barsel I use No7 serum Protect and Perfect -no its not cheap but lasts about 3 months you only put a tiny bit on underneath normal moisturiser

Supergroup do a good range of scrums.

I last used this, by SuperFacialist from Boots. Though it's sometimes available at tkmaxx for less. I also used a serum by Sanctuary Spa but that was discontinued.

Thanks for that APG. Yes it is a bit expensive, but I expect you get what you pay for.
As my birthday is coming up, I might ask for that from one of my daughters.
Barsel -you can get starter kits from boots, gift wrapped with mini pots of serum ,night & day cream -an ideal way to try it out.

Question Author
Thanks for that Pasta. Looks like Boots have a sale on at the moment.
Will take a look.
I bought something called Vitamin C Shot Fresh-Mix Tissue Mask by Garnier and plan to use that over the week-end but it isn't something you would use everyday which is what I'm looking for.
Something to put on under your moisturiser sounds ideal.
