A few years ago, I saw a film that had essentially the same plot as "Duel" (1971, Steven Spielberg) except the guy was being chased by a big black car instead of a petrol tanker. I can't remember who was in it or anything anybody know what it was called?

The car kept going "beep beep beep"!

Thanks!

The film is "Christine", directed by John Carpenter in 1983 based on the novel by Stephen King.

See www.imdb.com and enter Christine in the search box.

Christine is a red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury.

You're correct kempie my apologies, Christine is red and white and the correct answer is "The Car".
No need to apologise GK2005.

There are quite a few 'evil car' films and so "The Car" may not be the one Roger465 remembers, but we can at least rule out "Christine" because of the colour.
The Incredible Hulk episode "Never Give a Trucker An Even Break" used the same plotline as "Duel" and also used most of the same segments of film. In other words it was exactly the same, except for Dennis Weaver being replaced by Bill Bixby and some green monster shinanigans taking place at various points along the road that obvious didn't feature in the Steven Speilberg original. No black car though, but a rip off nevertheless.
