Anyone can go into the countryside, you can drive, walk, cycle, get a bus or train, anyone of any race can visit the countryside.

Back in the early 1980's I helped to take a group (about 40) of inner-city Halifax, Muslim kids for a day out walking up the hills to the moors with a break at the topmost pub's beer-garden for them to eat sandwiches, purchase (soft) drinks - so paying our way - and the licensee was most impressed with their behaviour and how tidy we left the site. In fact he wrote to the school to say so.
The girls, of course, turned up in floaty shalwar-kmeeze and sandals, so lots of grumbles, but they all - ALL - enjoyed the experience and knew that the countryside was theirs to enjoy and respect. I'm willing to bet that almost every child gets this sort of opportunity (especially in the last week of the Summer terms) so any prohibition and hesitation has to be manufactured by the minority communities as yet another source of discord.

Countryfile deals exclusively with matters concerning the British countryside. Diversity outside this country is irrelevant in regards to the programme in question.
The outcry seen on this thread is exactly why topics like this need to be addressed on television. Stop getting so triggered over one single report on a weekly show. It's a big diverse world out there, the Beeb has to provide a service that incorporates everyone, whether you folk like it or not.

Springwatch, a BBC programme, axed Martin Hughes-Games so that they could employ Gillian Burke.
There was such an outcry from Martin's adoring public that the BBC had to re-employ him, but it was in a much reduced role - quite a blow for a person who relies on full-time employment from being a television presenter.

ummmm, I've read interviews with Martin Hughes-Games and seen him on television, talking about the subject.
The BBC's intentions were perfectly clear to all and having worked for them, I know what a bunch of ageist, sexist luvvies they are!
