Central ITV it seems deems it necessary to produce a series on the subject.

But it is not just the countryside they also don't care to visit our Stately Homes, because they are attached to British Colonialism and Slavery.

There is no such thing as positive discrimination.

discrimination is discrimination and offering a bus for "only blacks and Asians" is racist.

/// Thirteen years ago, there was just a handful of them, but that’s swelled to about 30, including the occasional woman. ///

Wow!!! now about 30, must keep an eye out for them.
I was brought up in the country and am not bothered about visiting it. Remote rural places just depress me. I don't mind driving through the countryside admiring the view but that's about it. I like visiting towns and cities with galleries, museums, cathedrals, theatres, interesting buildings etc. when I go out. I do like visiting Stately Homes though and gardens. So, each to their own, I say. Why does there have to be a deep reason why people like certain things and not others? Re Talbot's comment 09.26, you could say, once you've seen one field, hill and wood you've seen them all.
Before everyone lays into aog in an effort to prove him wrong, he hasn't produced this report. It comes from ITV.

Thank you Naomi.
AOG //Wow!!! now about 30, must keep an eye out for them.//
No need for your sarcasm. You asked why Black and Asian don't visit our country side and I pointed out that they do.
I think AOG's concern that the black and Asian communities are missing out is admirable.
"Really?????? "

Yes. "Positive discrimination" is the action of discriminating others. You can't discriminate at all, without comparing a culture to another.. = someone is discriminated against. Nothing positive about that.
AOG -

"Positive discrimination. Positive discrimination is generally unlawful in the UK. For example, an employer recruiting a person because he or she has a relevant protected characteristic rather than because he or she is the best candidate would be committing discrimination under the Equality Act 2010."
No such thing as positive discrimination.. it's just discrimination.
A few do, danny, but according to the report that isn't the norm.
Naomi @ 10.01. AOG asked the question,It does not matter where the report originated.

/// What is the reason that you are concerned/bothered why black and asian don't visit our glorious English countryside? ///

I am not, but I am concerned why some go to the trouble to produce TV programmes and form inquiries in their attempts to encourage BAMEs into the countryside.

Why bother if they don't care to visit such areas, what's the problem?
Damn it...I was wrong :0/

So the Q should have been

What Is The Reason some go to the trouble to produce TV programmes and form inquiries in their attempts to encourage BAMEs into the countryside?
There are both black and Asian volunteers at my local National Trust property - maybe because it is located in area that has a good ethnic mixture, Wolverhampton.
"I climbed Snowdon once, only to get to the top, to find about 50 rather large Muslim women, all in hijabs with hiking sticks"

Well if the mountain won't come to mohammedans........

For your information I did not ask a question, I was just commenting on ITV's need to produce such a programme.

In the course of debate, certain questions are asked and replies made, nothing wrong in that.
Sorry AOG it was the question mark in you OP that confused me somewhat.
Danny, When efforts are made to prove the report wrong, the source matters a great deal.
