Loved it- right up until he got shot by the boy's grandfather. Am I right in assuming that you get scanned for guns when you go to court?

I thought the programme was brilliant too, until the end. There is no way you'd get a gun into the court. You are right in saying that you get scanned. Especially in such a high profile case as that would have been Though he deserved it.
..t'was very good...the actor did a superb job of portraying the twisted killer...a bit toooooo good a job! lol... the old man did have the gun hidden in a metal lunch box type thing though...but as you say a bit far fetched..the ending would have worked equally well without the shooting...
Yes boo you get scanned and bag checked, empty pockets etc-scary!
If I entered a dark, dank building with a peculiar smell and was told it was cats pee, I would probably accept it and I expect you would. BUT a policeman of his experience not to immediately suspect a body???, he later said the place had the smell of a morgue so why not question the smell straight away. Why mention the girls needing 25. each for a school trip to London if it wasn`t to suggest they had a fair distance to travel? - the police arrived there in minutes (as usual). The gun in the court - just a joke.
Thought it was good... and it had Victoria Smurfitt in it !!!!
Well, i enjoyed the programme too, and yes he wouldn't get a gun into the court room. But the biggest problem with whole programme was that Lynda la Plante had stolen the whole story from The film The vanishing. There have been two versions of this film- the original and the best was the Dutch version and it was much darker too. I kept watching thinking 'this is all very familiar' and then they had the exact same 'drink this coffee and you'll find out what happened to your lover' scene! The only difference was the trial at the end. There's no reference to the original film in the credits and only says written by Lynda La Plante. I was very surprised at her!
