Did you watch 'Vera' (ITV), Sunday night? Noel, the guilty man, who had killed Faye, the woman he loved, by mistake, said he had phoned for a taxi to get Tony, the loan shark boss of the taxi firm, to come out of a wake for Roddy, who had committed suicide. However, the loan shark gave the job to Faye. She drove the taxi and Noel drove her off the road using the Roddy's van. What I am struggling with is that Noel said he "Watched the car pull away". If he did that, he must have seen Faye get in the car. Even if he missed that somehow, he must have been able to see at some point that the driver of the car was a woman, not Tony.
That's two hours of my life I'll never get back.
P.S. The van that was recovered would not have fitted into the garage that Vera opened.

I agree with Bert about losing two hours!!!! I thought the episode was incredibly boring and wasn't struck on last week's though I always used to look forward to it. Might give it a miss in the future.

It was dark, he didn't see anyone get in the van, just saw the van move off.
I thought the ending was a good twist but is it me or is Vera's voice getting more squeaky, scratchy and shrill?
I'm always coming across similar things, Bert.
In today's Father Brown, the 'secret' brother with mental health issues who had been kept hidden in the attic had a strong reaction to his brother's fiancée when she sat down beside him, and the brother said "it's because he's never seen glasses before". But in the previous scene, said brother was sitting next to, and chatting amiably with, Father Brown - who wears glasses!
I love the series, it's rare an odd slip in continuity or a minor detail spoils a programme I like.

I agree with Kustard. I am finding this series very boring.
Agree about Vera’s voice getting more scratchy and shrill very off putting hard to find her believable she’s no Miss Marple.
I find her as believable as Jack Frost but enjoy both series. Just turn the screech down, Vera!
