Is there a web site anyone can recommend to find out who a actor's agent is? Is this necessarily a good way to approach them with a fan letter?

uk.imdb.com - go to the actor's page by doing a search and click on the 'agent' link under 'biographical' on the left. An example: http://uk.imdb.com/BAgent?McGregor,+Ewan

oh...forgot about the second bit of your question. I've no experience of such matters but I would say writing c/o their agent is the best way. Whether you will get a response depends on the person in question and what you're after, amongst other things!
