Does anyone else get very annoyed when you change channels on the tv and there's a voice-over? I know you can turn it off with the audio button on the control - but why is it there without me asking for it? Can I stop it all together?

It doesn't happen on any of my tvs - what make and model is it?
It's usually me who has accidentally caught the button on the remote.
I seem to be the only one here who is not sure what's meant here by a "voice over"
it doesn't come on unless you ask it to - the ad is controlled by your remote
Adiou description FF - it's for blind people so they dont miss important visual only plot points.
Is it a facility maybe for the partially sighted that describes what's happening (e.g. "Rita locks the door and crosses over to The Rovers")?
Thanks bednobs- crossed posts
Oh, I thought the issue was a voice that said, "You have turned over to channel 1", and I thought, "Never happened on any TV I've owned".
What annoys me is at the end of a programme, I'm trying to read the cast list and id goes to one side and the lettering blurs to unreadable, while a voice tells us what's next, which we already know! I wish they wouldn't do that!
I don't get the voice overs but I too hate the way the credits go up and put to one side while the continuity announcer tells us what's coming up in the next hour or so
