BBC 1 10.30 - 11.55pm.
I didn't see Cathy Come Home when it was first shown many years ago but do recall people, family, neighbours talking about it. Doesn't everyone know whilst it was portrayed as real life documentary - it was actors and actresses.
I should think most people do JJ, still Ken Loach at his gritty best.
Yes Mamy - now they do but think when it was first shown - people did think it was "real".
There were some good gritty films about that time.
Was one Friday Night Saturday Morning, and Live now Pay Later I remember very well.
whilst I never seen it either - was there a "Nil by Mouth" - with Kathy Burke.
Cathy come home was very haunting. I saw it when it was first shown on BBC and it has stuck with me over the years. Sad.
There sure was, trt. Also Whistle down the wind, A kind of loving and This sporting life.
I cant remember if June Ritchie was in Live now Pay Later or kind of Loving, as we were both in the Stretford Children's theatre, and we both got a mention in the Stretford News.

She was playing the lead part, in I think the Mikado, and I was a bit part soldier. :-(
I remember seeing 'A taste of Honey' with Dora Bryan playing a straight part.
Was Rita Tushingham in that film, jd ?.
She was Tony, brilliant actress.
Thought she was, Mamya. I remember that film, very good.
What year was Cathy come home made ?
1966
There was also another drama about the same time called: Up The Junction.
Ah yes, Adrienne Posta - I wanted to be her at one point.
